Information Sessions
Information sessions have to be attended by all applicants of accredited vocational education and training [VET] courses. If you are completing a short course or a university level course with us, you do not need to attend a session.
When we receive your expression of interest or online application form, you will be contacted by a student services officer to arrange a suitable date and time to attend the pre course information session. This is compulsory especially if you are seeking Government funding.
We encourage you to view the course information video on our website before this. This video is located on the course page.
The information session runs for around 90 minutes and consists of:
- Reviewing the course information video (10 minutes)
- Undertaking an English Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment on a PC to determine that you have the skills and capacity to study at the chosen level (around 1 hour)
- A 1:1 review of your application with one of our co-ordinators where you can undertake questions (around 20 minutes)
These sessions are usually undertaken in person at our Hawthorn East campus. Currently, with COVID restrictions; these sessions are completed with you remotely and online.
What Our Happy Graduates Are Saying...
I completed my Cert IV Allied Health Assistance in 2011. Our classes were conducted by a range of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and other specialities. This variety provided me with a greater appreciation of the allied health fields and also affirmed my desire to work with and help others. Five weeks of clinical placement, further inspired me to learn more. This year I commenced a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Deakin University. Already I have found the content and experience I gained at Mayfield incredibly beneficial in my studies.
I wanted to say thank you to the staff for the quick attention to my work. It was a wonderful experience to have had your support for the 12 months of my course
My placement was very good and although the first day was daunting they made me feel at home and explained every aspect of the role. It was great and I am confident that this is what I want to do
