• Employed as a healthcare worker.
• Health care workers with an interest in foot care and podiatry.
• Health workers who care for the elderly and people with a disability.
• Those with high-risk feet who seek to prevent complications from sports and other injuries.
• Health care worker who can perform the activities outlined in the performance criteria of this unit during a period of at least 120 hours of work.

4 to 6 weeks

This course is conducted by Registered Podiatrists. The course is designed to incorporate a blended delivery model.

• Blended mode of study
• 2 full days of face-to-face workshop. Workshops run from 9:30am to 3:30pm.
• Online self-directed learning (4 – 6 weeks)
• Undertake relevant assessment tasks.
• Perform the activities outlined in the performance criteria of this unit during a period of at least 120 hours of allied health assistance work. At least 60% of this work must be carried out in an allied health workplace. The remaining 40% may be carried out in a simulated environment, if an allied health workplace is unavailable.

• Receiving delegation and gathering information.
• Preparing for basic foot care.
• Performing basic foot care.
• Applying padding and cushioning prescribed by the supervising podiatrist.
• Complying with supervisory requirements
• Cleaning and storing equipment.
• Relevant documentation

This course can be delivered at your work site subject to the number of participants.
